What’s new in Sipelia 2.12

The latest release of Genetec Sipelia™ is now available and continues to double down on secure calling using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The previous version contained network protocols to secure your calls between SIP devices and other Genetec operators. Sipelia version 2.12 adds even more security when it comes to SIP trunking, which allows you to make external calls by creating a connection between the Genetec interface and your VoIP provider.

Genetec Sipelia Version 2.12 Easy to configure

Add encryption to external calls

Cybersecurity is on everyone’s mind, especially when it comes to communications. The previous version of Sipelia supported call encryption between your server and registered SIP devices, and this latest version extends that security between your Sipelia server and your external communication or intercom server that supports Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Real Time Protocol (SRTP). This means while you’re using the Genetec interface to make calls to emergency services, or other external phone numbers, you now have the option to enable encryption if your external exchange server supports it.

Easy to use and configure

With just a few clicks you can create a trunk connection from Sipelia to your external exchange server or intercom server. For example, you could connect to a cloud-based VoIP provider such as VoIP.ms or an on-prem system like a Cisco Call Manager. All you need is a name, IP, username, and password if you want to use the SIP Registration method and finally enable TLS if needed.

Call logging improvements

Alongside the security re-enforcements, some optimization was performed to better handle more routine tasks. This is especially important when logging call time stamps and handling recording for bigger systems dealing with hundreds of daily calls. Now you’ll be able to clear out the call log report in addition to the recordings.
