Taking parking lot service to the next level

First Parking aims to be Australia’s number one parking lot industry disruptor. Find out how they're using advanced technology to provide great parking services and win over potential new customers.

Perth, Australia

The company

Founded in 2020, First Parking leases and operates 18 parking lots in cities across Australia’s eastern seaboard with plans for significant expansion. With a goal to shake up the parking industry, First Parking employs creative pricing models to rival established players in the field. From the beginning, the company invested in flexible, high-quality security systems to support growth and build trust with potential customers.

The challenge

First Parking required an adaptable solution capable of securing a quickly increasing number of leased locations and facilitating expansion to more than 50 parking lots. The team also wanted a highly reliable solution that could minimize the risk of failures. This would ensure uninterrupted access to video and audio across parking lots to quickly address any incidents. The chosen security solution also needed to be intuitive and enable control room operators, who could be working remotely, to provide the highest levels of service and safety to customers and their vehicles.

The solution

Unified view of all parking lots

Operators monitor security across 18 parking lots from a single pane of glass. The simplicity and ease of use of Security Center helps First Parking have a global view of their operations and deliver exceptional customer service.

Enhanced customer services

With Sipelia™, managers can review video footage and intercom calls to see and hear how operators manage events. This helps them to identify training needs and opportunities to enhance customer service.

Remote operations monitoring

Thanks to Security Center, the First Parking Managing Director uses the platform to oversee operations remotely. He can display live footage on big screens from his home office with near control-room quality.

ALPR data and enforcement

In the near future, First Parking will be deploying the AutoVu™ automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) system to streamline parking enforcement and better manage drivers’ use of their parking lot facilities.

Results

First Parking selected Security Center to unify video surveillance, access control, and intercom systems. Within the unified platform, First Parking operators can manage events and alarms for hundreds of video surveillance cameras and intercom stations across its parking lots.

To simplify the deployment, First Parking has implemented Genetec Streamvault™ security infrastructure appliances across all parking lots. Additionally, the team also subscribes to Genetec™ Advantage, the comprehensive maintenance agreement package that gives them access to the latest software upgrades, as well as premium support and system health monitoring.
