Product Privacy Sheet - Genetec™ Operations Center

Overview

As part of your use of the Product, you (either you as an individual, or the legal entity that you represent, as applicable; referred to as “you”, “your” or “yours”), or your users, may upload, receive or generate certain information or data (“Data”). This document outlines what type of information and Data is concerned and to what extent Genetec (also referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”) may access, store, use, or otherwise process (referred to as “processing”, “process” or other similar words) it.

What data is processed by the Product?

The Product is designed to provide you and your users maximum flexibility and control over the nature and scope of Data, as determined by your organization or each user of the Product. Your Data is encrypted and not accessible to Genetec as a result of your use of the Product.

Equipment identifiers: The Product enables you to define and store various equipment identifiers, including name, serial number and description, to uniquely identify equipment such as cameras, sensors or vehicles.

Location identifiers: The Product further enables you to define and store various location identifiers, including name, geolocation and description, to uniquely identify locations such as areas, buildings or rooms.

Uploaded files and metadata: The Product enables users to upload files. Uploaded files can be in an array of formats (such as, videos, photos, audio files and documents) and will include associated metadata (which could, depending on your content, include timestamps, user identification, capture device information, and even GPS coordinates).

Work item Data: The Product stores work item Data that is input by your users. This may include the item’s description, location, reporter and requester, planned start and end dates, budget, and other parameters configured by the user or the organization.

System user: The Product captures user identifiers to uniquely identify authorized users. This includes their display name, unique identifier, name, e-mail address and contact information. The display name and the unique identifier of each user will be visible to Genetec, but not other Data.

Audit Trails: As part of its audit trail, the Product keeps a record of users’ internet protocol (“IP”) addresses and the list of their activities inside the Product, including timestamps of these activities.

Data ownership, access and retention

You will always remain the owner of your Data. You are fully responsible for the content of your Data, which includes obtaining all rights, consents, authorizations and other approvals from all relevant third parties as may be necessary for you to enable us to process your Data as part of your use of the Product.

The Product is designed so that your Data may be accessed only by the authorized system administrators (which may include your system integrator) and users with appropriate access privileges, as defined by you. Your Data will be stored in our instance of the Microsoft Azure data centers. To address the needs of our customers, the Product is available in different data centers around the world. You may select your preferred data center region among the available locations based on your needs and compliance requirements.

Other than for the limited user identifiers (as explained in this document), Genetec does not have access to your Data in the Product. If you ask Genetec to provide support, our support team will only have access to Data that you submit as part of your support request or to which you decide to grant us access. As such, in certain cases, we may ask you to share additional information with us to be able to address your request for support.

Genetec uses modern encryption standards to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of your Data in the Product, while in transit and at rest. To enhance Data security, integrity, and availability the Product leverages blockchain technology where feasible. As such, unless the Data is stored in a separate database (such as the case with your identification as a customer and any files uploaded by your users), retention of your Data therefore requires retention of the respective blockchain and thus the entire set of Data contained therein. All Data will be retained until you manually delete it or the respective blockchain according to your retention policy.

Usage and Performance Information:

As a result of your use of the Product, Genetec collects certain non‑personal usage and performance information and metrics based on users’ use of the Product, including configuration settings, error messages, and information on the use and performance of Product features. Usage and Performance Information is not your Data is used by us to fix issues, improve the Product, and ensure that it functions as intended.
