Aegis enables security personnel to respond to threats in real time, by identifying weapons before shots are fired using AI. The Aegis system integrates with a customer's existing Genetec video management system and send alerts to building security via VMS alert, text, or email. Aegis uses Genetec's existing motion detection to identify frames of interest, and then pulls those frames to Aegis' cloud for analysis. Cloud-based threat detection means that no expensive on-site hardware is required. Aegis can be up and running on your camera system in less than 15 minutes. Aegis integrates with customers' existing cameras and VMS, limiting bandwidth usage and maximizing your security investments.

Solution architecture
Our solution integrates with Genetec by using a combination of the Web-based SDK and the Media Gateway role. The Web-based SDK role allows for third-party interaction with backend data and the Media Gateway role enables video streaming to our cloud-based computer vision pipeline. Our pipeline receives video footage when there is motion at a camera, searches the footage for guns using our computer vision model, and then alerts customers in under one second directly within their Genetec installation if there is a gun drawn on one of their cameras. Customers can also be alerted via email or SMS.
