Axis Communications

AXIS Forensic Search for Genetec accelerates forensic investigations by enabling efficient search, recovery and sharing of vast amounts of video footage. It uses motion object tracking and object classification metadata from Axis cameras to enable accurate identification without the need for any analytics servers. Seamlessly integrated with Genetec, users can search for motion or objects in a scene and receive search results. Search results and video footage can be easily extracted, managed, and shared as evidence. It also integrates Genetec’s data visualization to help improve response and analysis times.

When you want fast results from archives of video footage

Whether incidents involve law enforcement teams operating in public city areas or security or operational teams managing privately owned commercial and retail facilities, the vast majority of forensic investigations involve video evidence. Video can not only come from various sources. Investigators are often not certain of what or whom they are looking for, exactly when an incident took place, or the entire location and areas in which an incident took place. On top of this, the sheer amount of video sent from just one camera mounted at one location over a day, week or even longer is extensive — the greater number of cameras, the more video there is to review. So investigators must spend hours reviewing video clips in search of a single incident or activity, which is inefficient.

This explains why there is a growing demand for forensic search features. And why forensic search is a central aspect of most video surveillance systems.

Accurate results in seconds

AXIS Forensic Search for Genetec offers an efficient way to search for, vast amounts of video evidence. Within Genetec Security Center, you can perform search investigations based on object classification and motion object tracking – all without the need for analytics servers.

It's ideal for investigations that begin with only a minimal number of known details, for example, the location of an incident. Both motion object tracking and object classification metadata are used. Motion object tracking identifies the movement of objects or people in a scene. Object classification metadata is based on AXIS Object Analytics and enables search for object classes such as a specific type of vehicle (car, truck, bike, etc.).

Data and evidence management

This forensic search integration not only makes it easy to find what you’re looking for, it also helps you efficiently analyze search result data. Metadata from all cameras is compiled and visualized in graphs and charts so you quickly understand the search data that is presented

Search results and video footage can be easily extracted, managed, and shared as evidence. Cases can be automatically created and populated with relevant recordings as well as digital evidence from other sources. Furthermore, you can collaborate with internal investigators or securely share information with prosecutors and be sure it’s only accessible to authorized recipients
