CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System Genetec Gateway Solution Overview
The IHS3xx Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) is a sensor-based system that employs advanced hybrid detection technologies to deliver a high level of perimeter surveillance. It is compatible with most fence environments and supports the detection and tracking of all types of intruders.
By utilizing the IHS3xx - Genetec Gateway (RSA Interface), users can monitor the IHS3xx system and configure alarm responses directly within the Genetec Security Center.
The IHS3xx Sensor is designed for fence-mounted installations, incorporating advanced hybrid detection capabilities to enable both fence line and open area surveillance within a single hardware platform. It employs passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect the body heat of approaching objects and dual-detection technology to analyze vibrations caused by movement on the fence via accelerometer data. This "All-in-One" sensor maintains individual functionalities while integrating enhanced fusion features.
The IHS3xx sensor provides tri-axis accelerometer data to detect vibrations within approximately 3 meters (up to 5 meters) of the fence. The IHS302 and IHS320 models additionally analyze thermal data within a 180° field and up to 5 meters to detect approaching objects.
Each Sensor and Data Gathering Unit (DGU) supports dual communication buses, allowing a single DGU to connect up to 500 sensors (250 sensors per port), covering a perimeter of up to 1,200 meters with 3-meter panel spacing.
Main Features :
- Directly Mounted on Perimeter Fence: Sensors and system are installed directly on the fence line.
-
Independent Sensor Placement: Sensors are installed centrally on the fence at intervals of up to 5 meters.
- Continuous Connection: Independent sensors are connected in a continuous daisy-chain configuration using a single cable.
-
Hybrid Detection: Sensors detect "approach" and "vibration" events on perimeter fences.
- Universal Fence Compatibility: Applicable to all fence types, including traditional mesh, welded wire mesh, and fence tops.
- System Configuration: The IHS3xx system includes the IHS3xx and IHS3xxRP sensor series, sensor management via DGU, and optional components such as line surge protectors (IHSLP), line splitters, and the digital input/output device (IHS300TB).

Solution Architecture
CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System - Genetec Gateway operation :
- ISG communication authentication success.
- Sends Heartbeat periodically to ISG.
- Waiting for the DGU to be connected.
- Manages DGU data when DGU connected.
- Periodically requests and collects IHS status.
DGU Operation :
- Periodically collects IHS data.
- Attempts to connect to CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System - Genetec Gateway.
When a DGU is connected :
-
After the status of the DGU (Model) and IHS (Device) communicated with CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System - Genetec Gateway is changed to 'Connected,' the Heartbeat protocol is sent to the ISG.
-
Security Center registers the IHS (Device) data equipment.
When an event occurs :
-
An event occurs at the IHS sensor.
-
The DGU sends the event to CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System - Genetec Gateway via communication.
-
After CATIS Perimeter Intrusion Detection System - Genetec Gateway generates the data, it sends the Fence intrusion event to the ISG.
-
The Security Center displays the alarm screen associated with the IHS (Device).
