Identity One FIPSlink Solution Overview

TWIClink is a TWIC card enrollment and TWIC device management software platform with turnkey integration into leading access control systems.

Key market application

TWIClink Application

Class-A Facilities need to be TWIC compliant with biometric verification as per the Final Ruling of 2016 by 23 August 2018. TWIClink enables facilities using Genetec Security Center to add a drop-in TWIC-compliant solution to their Security Center license.

TWIClink Site Card compatibility

Facilities currently using Genetec Security Center most likely have site badges that they use on a day-to-day basis. Seeing as re-enrolling all personnel with a TWIC card may be inconvenient or in some cases not feasible, TWIClink allows Class-A facilities to re-use their current site badges by linking their TWIC information to the cardholder's credential within Security Center. This maintains TWIC compliance as per the final ruling and addresses concerns sites may have about losing access control functionality during the time they are enrolling TWIC cardholders.

TWIClink Compliance and Integrity Manager

TWIC-compliant facilities are required to remain compliant with the TWIC standard set forth by the Final Ruling of August 2016. TWIClink Compliance and Integrity manager address this necessity by performing daily downloads of the TWIC Cancelled Card List and comparing the TWIC data of all enrolled cardholders against the information within the list. In addition to the Cancelled Card List, the Compliance and Integrity Manager checks expiry dates, as well as other TWIC Data and Certificates to ensure that facilities never go out of compliance. The Compliance and Integrity Manager also ensures that the Sigma devices are always configured correctly and that there are no unexpected users or configurations on the device.

Solution architecture

TWIClink provides a way to enroll and store TWIC cardholder data and associate that data witha cardholder within Genetec Security Center. The TWIClink DataService utilizes the Genetec Security Center SDK to create, edit and disable cardholders within Security Center. The Dataservice takes commands from the TWIClink Server, which itself takes commands from the TWIClink Clients. Below is a diagram detailing how the TWIClink architecture functions during the enrollment of a TWIC cardholder.
