YOUNiQ - SECURE FACILITY ACCESS WITH FACIAL RECOGNITION
Precise YOUNiQ adds biometric as a credential to existing access control systems. With facial recognition from YOUNiQ, YOU are the key, no tags or access cards are needed. The enrollment of a new user in YOUNiQ is 100% digital. The user takes a selfie to create a highly accurate biometric template via algorithms, which enables less administration costs for managing large numbers of physical access credentials. This cloud-based software with full remote management for registration, permission and building entry access is perfect for any entrance that requires controlled access. YOUNiQ identifies a person via a camera video stream. The system is suitable for any entrance that requires access authentication to the premises. The system extracts a face from the video stream and matches it with the template in the local YOUNiQ server. YOUNiQ uses a liveness detection algorithm, which prevents any attempts to override or spoof the system and ensures that you are the actual person standing in front of the camera. The process of identification becomes seamless and touchless due to our biometric identification system.
We integrate with Genetec Security Center, so that your facility can start using facial recognition via YOUNiQ and add that extra layer of security to your access control system. This deeper level of integration not only provides an elegant and simple manner for adding facial recognition to the Synergis platform, but can readily facilitate two-factor authentication, along with embedded system administration.

The YOUNiQ biometric credential ... something you are ... offers greater security than access cards or pin codes, since it can’t be lost, stolen or forgotten. Moreover, an even higher level of secure access can be facilitated when using YOUNiQ in conjunction with card access, creating a two- factor authentication (2FA) solution.
Beyond this higher level of security, the addition of the YOUNiQ biometric credential in a 2FA implementation is seamless and frictionless to the user since the face recognition portion of the authentication process occurs in the background while the user is presenting their card or pin code to the system.
Easier & lower cost administration of user credentials & entrance monitoring
Facilities that experience high turnover among their user and visitor populations are overly burdened with the distribution and management of user credentials, such as ID or access cards. These ”something you have” credentials are time consuming and costly to provision, distribute and retrieve in environments with high levels of user turnover, such as temporary work force situations.
In such situations, this administration burden can be dramatically reduced by using YOUNiQ digital on- boarding. Users receive an email containing a web link that allows uploading of their face credential (i.e., their
‘selfie‘), which is immediately registered as another access credential within Security Center. And when a user’s credentials are removed or suspended within Security Center, their YOUNiQ face credential is also immediately suspended. No need to locate and retrieve access cards, fobs or other physical credentials.
The use of face recognition as a user credential, captured by entrance cameras and authenticated using best- in-class matching and liveness detection technology, can also reduce in-person monitoring and badge checking. Access hours can also be extended to 24/7 with confidence, but without the incremental cost of staffing the entrance.

Solution Architecture
The YOUNiQ integration consists of two operations:
1. User synchronization YOUNiQ needs to import card holders from Security Center / Synergis to:
- a. do biometric enrollment
- b. read the users credentials (i.e. card number)
- c. users will be synchronized using Genetec's Web SDK.
2. Perform a "virtual card swipe (using the previously imported credentials) when a user is identified by face.
A virtual card swipe will be performed through the RIO SDK. An HTTP POST will be sent to the /ExternalIntegrations/{channel}/Update endpoint with the credential (card number) as payload.
