Spot Parking Multi-Tenant Plugin Solution Overview
Leveraging the power of Genetec's Auto Vu Multi-Tenant Occupancy capabilities, this plugin provides the integration of multi-tenant near-real-time occupancy status information from Security Centre directly into the Spot Parking platform.
Key market application
The Spot Parking Multi-Tenant Plugin consists of a Windows Service and a companion Windows application that provides necessary configuration and monitoring tools.
The Windows Service has one core function - to poll a connected Security Center instance for updated multi-tenant occupancy information across all applicable lots, and to package and send this data securely to the Spot Parking platform for further processing. The polling occurs on a customisable frequency, with a default of every 60 seconds.
In order for this plugin to operate, the connected Security Center instance must have Auto Vu installed and with parking lots configured with multi-tenant occupancy support.
Personalized understanding of occupancy counts for each customer.
Occupancy count information is communicated to users on a per lot/facility basis. However, these parking assets typically have special sections of parking spaces set aside for different uses. A university campus may institute some form of the permit system, where holders of certain permits are entitled to park in certain spaces. A medical centre may have designated parking areas for doctors/nurses, patients and visitors, some of which may serve multiple purposes. It's likely that some of these spaces may have dedicated ADA or EV support.
With the Spot Parking Multi-Tenant plugin, your customers can be provided with an occupancy count that is relevant to their particular circumstances, allowing them to plan their journey destination with greater confidence. A nurse can understand whether there is current availability for dedicated parking within a preferred medical center facility. A student could determine the likelihood of permit parking being occupied

Solution architecture
The solution consists of a Windows Service with a companion Windows Application tool for configuration and maintenance. The solution is installed utilising a standard Windows Installer file (.msi).
The Windows Service communicates Security Centre utilising the standard Domain/Username/Password credentials. Once authenticated, the instance receives TenantOccupancyRequest requests from the Windows Service for each instance of the AutoVu FreeFlow plugin installed. Any TenantOccupancyResponse responses are then packaged up into an appropriate data structure a published to the AWS IoT Gateway endpoint, where it is processed by Spot Parking. Communications with the AWS IoT Gateway utilise the MQTT protocol (port 8883) with TLS 1.2 encryption end-to-end.
Before Windows Service is operational, it must receive a set of configuration information, including credentials for both Security Centre and the AWS Gateway endpoint.
