What's new in Mission Control 3.0.4
The latest release of Genetec Mission Control™ is now available. Version 3.0.4 boasts several performance enhancements, new automation capabilities, and refinements to the incident procedures within the Genetec mobile application.
Reduce noise with the new maintenance automation
A faulty, damaged, or tampered device can create repetitive alerts that create system noise until the issue is resolved. Operators are often instructed to set the device to maintenance mode but frequently lack the right permissions to do so or may not get to them in time before the alerts begin to pile up. This problem is amplified when multiple devices are affected at the same time.
Version 3.0.4 now allows you to automatically switch a device to maintenance mode to eliminate repeat notifications. This automation is also useful within incidents that are implemented for scheduled device maintenance or the commissioning of new ones.
Share snapshots with automated emails
Sending automated emails is an efficient way of keeping stakeholders notified during an incident without slowing down operators. These emails can contain context variables that are auto-filled with details specific to the situation such as the incident time, location, priority, and so on.
Version 3.0.4 includes the ability to add video snapshots so that recipients can see exactly what is going on. For example, security guards can be sent an image of an intruder that forced a door open instead of having to rely on a description provided by operators. This optimization in communication can improve many existing procedures and opens opportunities to create new ones.
Tap into more information within mobile procedures
Security teams require tools that can effectively help reduce risk and help bridge the gap between the officers patrolling the field and the ones working at the operations center. Field officers are especially at risk given their proximity to potential danger and their limited access to information.
The Genetec mobile application provides officers with situational awareness and the ability to assess situations independently in the field. Accessing Mission Control procedures provides them with the guidance needed to get the job done. Version 3.0.4 adds the ability to include URL links within the procedure steps so that officers can be directed to websites and pertinent documents that can be viewed in a web browser. For example, they can be directed to emergency contact lists, building schematics, and material safety data sheets.
