Capture more vehicle insights with SharpOS 13.6.0

Want to know what kind of vehicle is being captured by your ALPR camera the direction they're headed in? SharpOS 13.6.0 has everything you need and more.

AutoVu Sharp V ALPR camera

The latest release of AutoVuTM SharpOS 13.X is now available for the 1st and 2nd generations of the Security Center AutoVu ALPR cameras*! SharpOS 13.6.0 includes a variety of new features that focus on added and updated vehicle-based analytics, along with improved license plate contexts for select countries.

Know more about the vehicles being captured by your ALPR system

Simply knowing license plate information may not be enough for operators to work on their day-to-day tasks. With SharpOS 13.6.0, you can now benefit from improved vehicle type analytics, new vehicle orientation analytics, as well as added vehicle accessory detection.

Improved vehicle type

With improved vehicle type analytics, you can now have a more granular understanding of vehicles being detected. For instance, it can now detect a “car” as a “two-door sedan” or a “truck” as a “dump truck”, depending on the angle at which the vehicle is being captured.

SharpOS 13.6.0 vehicle type uses a classification model allowing you to obtain up to 24 different vehicle classifications.

Added vehicle orientation

With vehicle orientation analytics, you’ll be able to know if a vehicle is detected from the front, the front side, the back, the back side, and more. This allows you to better understand the direction a vehicle is travelling in when analyzing overall traffic flow, when in pursuit of a detected vehicle, and any other application.

New vehicle accessory detection

There’s no longer a need to go through every context image to find the vehicle with an added spare tire at the back. The new vehicle accessory detection analytics allows you to know if a spare tire is attached to the back of the vehicle, if a trailer hitch – whether it be the ball, just a receiver, etc. – is detected, as well as if the vehicle has any other rear attachment (classified as yes/no).

New and updated ALPR regional contexts are available

Not only has the read rate of North American plates been improved with this release, but new regional contexts have been added as well. With SharpOS 13.6.0, you can now capture plates in Ecuador and Israel. As for the Arabic Peninsula, a variety of contexts have been optimized, like those from Jordan, Oman, and Qatar. Other regions have been optimized to better recognize certain characters as well.

SharpOS 13.6.0 has leveraged Security Center AutoVu MLC (Machine Learning Core) to provide users with advanced, detailed analytics, as well as improved read rates and regional ALPR contexts.
