What’s new in Mission Control 3.0.2
The latest release of Genetec Mission Control™ our decision management system, is now available. Version 3.0.2 makes it easier to track key information during active incidents, design powerful automation, and audit events. It also deepens the maintenance capabilities of Mission Control, reducing security risks and reliance on administrator interventions for routine tasks.
Other improvements include enhanced description fields, the addition of three new languages, and a fresh look for exported incident reports.
Enhance your incident list for greater situational awareness
Users often capture valuable information in comments and notes when responding to events but the data can’t be tracked on the incident list since it remains within the incident. The new additional fields feature changes this.
These custom procedure fields allow you to capture any key data points that are valuable to your organization. For example, the name of a missing person, the type of chemical that was spilled, or the number of symptoms a visitor is exhibiting at a screening center. When there are multiple occurrences of the same incident within the incident list, the additional fields column can be used to distinguish them from each other. This will greatly enhance your situational awareness if your organization experiences a high volume of the same incident.
Customize your report filters for deeper insights
Report filters narrow down searches and present information in meaningful ways. You can now use additional fields to obtain even more specific results and gain greater insights from the data points that matter to your organization. For example, run reports based on a person’s name, age group, gender, or title. Add metrics that are key to improving your incident responses and track details that are critical for regulatory compliance.
Increase the precision of your automation triggers
Automation lightens your workload by performing tasks that don’t require your attention. It can also assist you when an intervention is needed by automating parts of the incident response. Responses tailored to different situations can occur thanks to the conditional activities automation which allows your system to perform a different set of tasks depending on the incident’s location or properties. For example, a door forced open to the R&D lab can be set to a higher priority than a door in a common area.
Additional fields add a whole new dimension to conditional activities based on the feedback from operators. For example, they can dynamically tally the number of times a visitor answers “yes” to COVID-19 symptom questions and trigger automation if a maximum threshold is reached. Automation can also react differently based on a visitor’s attributes such as age, gender, or title. The automation possibilities are limitless thanks to additional fields.

Cameras, readers, and door controllers can go offline for a variety of reasons. Sending a technician for device maintenance can be an expensive solution for situations where a simple reboot is all that is needed. An offline device also exposes your organization to security risks since technicians are not always immediately available.
The new reboot unit activity can be triggered within automation to ensure that a technician is only dispatched when necessary and can remedy the situation immediately without disrupting your operators.
