Overview
As part of your use of the Product, you (either you as an individual, or the legal entity that you represent, as applicable; referred to as “you”, “your” or “yours”), or your users, may upload, receive or generate data. This document outlines what type of data is concerned and to what extent Genetec (also referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”) may access, store, use or otherwise process (referred to as “processing”, “process” or other similar words) your data.
What type of data will be captured by the Product?
License Plate Check Data: Based on your configuration of the Product, it will generate Data related to the license plate checked via the Product, such as the existence or not of a violation, the citation number (if issued), the exemption reason (if applicable), the timestamp of the check and citation (if issued), the parking rights related to the check, the name of the street on which the license plate was checked, and any additional comments you might want to include in association with the license plate check.
Citation Data: The Product enables you to connect to compatible third-party citation management software and/or services, in order to allow you to follow the progression of a citation issued through the Product. The Product solely allows remote access to Data from such connected citation management software and/or services and is not designed to store any of that Data.
Uploaded files and metadata: The Product allows you to upload digital files in support of the curb management. These uploaded files can be in an array of formats, such as videos, photos, audio files and documents, and may include images of street signs, license plates, images of the surrounding areas of the vehicle or the curb, which may further include images of individuals passing by at the time the images were captured. Uploaded files will include associated metadata, including timestamps, user information, capture device information, and GPS positions when such information is available.
Connected Products: The Product enables you to configure various parking rules related to curb management. In order to assist you in the issuance of a citation, these rules will interact with compatible third-party software and/or services, such as parking sensors or parking payment platforms. The Product will capture relevant Data from such connected products as is necessary to confirm if a license plate check results in a violation or not. This could include the arrival time of a vehicle, pictures of the potential violation, the time the payment for parking was completed, and so forth. These events are stored in the Product for historical lookup purposes.
Device Data: The Product captures Data related to the device connected to the Product and used to perform a license plate check, which could be a device provided by your organization or made available to you by Genetec. This Data may include unique identifiers of the device such as its serial number, as well as some hardware characteristics such as the amount of memory available, the system time zone, and so forth. This will also include the approximate location of access of each user at the time a license plate is checked, based on the device’s GPS position.
User Data: The Product captures user identifiers to uniquely identify authorized users. This includes their name, e-mail address, and contact information that is configured in the Product. This information will appear in any audit trail generated by the Product to keep a record of user activities.
System Data: Various Data regarding your system and its configuration settings will be captured by the Product, such as the operating system language used, your Product identification, the version of the Genetec products installed on your device, and so forth.
Usage Data: The Product captures certain non-personal statistical and usage Data, such as the user action type, the most visited page, and so forth. Usage Data does not contain any of your personal or confidential Data. We may have access to this Data for analytics purposes.
