Creating identities without a paper trail

Traditionally, most access control systems (ACS) would not track the details of a new cardholder created in the system. Organizations assume a level of risk when adding someone to their ACS. The risk increases when dealing with the access management of contractors and tenants because they can come and go just like regular employees.

A better approach exists

With Genetec ClearID^TM, employees can now use the self-service portal to request an identity. Requesting an identity involves adding someone that does not exist in the system to ClearID, such as new contractors, tenants, and employees. These identities would then be created as cardholders in the Security Center Synergis™ ACS and given the correct physical access rights as defined from the ClearID identity request.

How can you benefit from this feature? 

Increase operational efficiency  

Employees can use the self-service portal to request multiple new identities in one single request. Once approved, all identities will be created in ClearID.

Using the self-service portal with an optional approver workflow optimizes contractor and employee management. Improve efficiency by interrupting fewer individuals who might not be the correct approvers. 

Reduce risk  

By automating the process to request a new identity, ClearID reduces the risk of human error. An identity created using the identity request can inherit specific access associated with an automatically provisioned role membership.
