New mapping enhancements in Security Center 5.11.2

Security Center 5.11.2 includes the Genetec Web App as well as mapping and visualization improvements.

Genetec Web App officially launched

In the last Security Center release, we gave you a preview of the GenetecTM Web App – and today, we’re happy to announce that it’s officially the default web role in this latest release. You can now manually create the Genetec Web App role through the Config Tool while retaining the option to toggle the old Security Center Web Client.

To give you a better overview of your systems, the Records task in Security Desk is now replaced with Unified Reports. This enhanced task helps consolidate data and reports by feeding the unified reports functionality in Genetec Web App, making it easier for operators, investigators, and administrators to view what’s happened across their system.

Supervised export of reports

As information becomes more portable, some high-security environments containing sensitive data will require more preventative measures to protect systems from data leaks and breaches. With Security Center 5.11.2, we’re extending supervised export beyond video recordings to include exported data. You can now add a second authorized user login requirement when exporting report data. For traceability, all attempted exports, successful or not, are recorded within the activity trails, along with both usernames. This 4-eyes principle (two eyes from the initial operator exporting, two eyes from the secondary user) decreases the likelihood and increases the complexity of illicit access to data.

Mapping enhancements

Security Center 5.11.2 brings several improvements to the Maps task.

First, a search bar was added to Map Designer to make it easier to find entities during configuration. There is also a new map layer to display entity names that can be toggled on to quickly identify entities at a glance when browsing the map. Lastly, you can now use Google Satellite maps, providing greater detail and more flexibility when designing your maps.

All-in-all, Security Center 5.11.2 simplifies configuration and improves navigation within Maps, especially for large and distributed systems.

Duplicate license plate anomaly detection

This update is designed to automatically notify you in the unlikely scenario that one license plate is recognized at two different locations in a short span of time, removing the need to manually comb through reports to find anomalies. Using maximum time and minimum distance as parameters, you can quickly identify potentially fraudulent plates.

Additional enhancements

  • Increased export limit on reports
  • Shunt inputs on doors directly in Security Desk
  • Firmware recommendations now supported for AutoVu™ SharpV ALPR devices
  • Search by IP address in Hardware Inventory
