AutoVu™ Plate Finder is a new subscription feature offered in Genetec™ Mobile, available to AutoVu Managed Services (AMS) customers. Plate Finder converts your mobile device into a high-tech enforcement tool. Securely verify parking rights, scofflaws, and hotlists against your existing AMS Security Center setup on the go.

Plate Finder is designed to make your enforcement tasks quicker, easier, and more efficient. Snap a photo to get the license plate read from your mobile device, and get all the information you need on the spot.  
     
Validating license plates against parking regulations and law enforcement hotlists in bustling downtown areas or crowded parking garages poses a significant challenge for officers, especially when vehicles back in, obstructing license plate visibility. Vehicle-based automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) systems face challenges as they struggle to read plates in such scenarios, compelling officers to exit the vehicle and manually input license plate information into the onboard software to validate every license plate. 
 
Plate Finder brings the power of license plate enforcement to your fingertips, allowing you to effectively manage regulations anywhere, at any time. With a secure connection to an AMS Security Center system, you can now query parking permits, scofflaws, or law enforcement hotlists with your mobile device. Increase efficiency by reducing the time officers spend validating difficult to access license plates. 

How does Plate Finder work?

To use Plate Finder, simply go to the “Plate Finder” tab in the Genetec Mobile app. The app's camera function allows you to photograph vehicle plates. Once captured, the Genetec Machine Learning Core (MLC) and neural network read the license plates and provide the necessary information.

Whether you’re identifying parking violations or spotting vehicles on hotlists, Plate Finder makes it easier to do so right from the palm of your hand. The app also integrates with the mobile device's GPS functionality to help you identify the nearest enforcement zones.

Requirements

• AutoVu Plate Finder subscription
• AutoVu Managed Services running Security Center 5.12.0 or later 
• iPhone with iOS 11.0 or later or Android Mobile 13+
• Currently only license plates from Canada and the US are supported
• An active internet connection is required

To use Plate Finder, you must add the AutoVu Plate Finder subscription license (SCS-AV-MS-PF-BASE) to your existing AMS system, which includes five concurrent connections.

Additional concurrent user subscription licenses are available for purchase (SCS-AV-MS-PF-1USER).
