Go further with Security Center 5.13
Are you benefitting from everything Security Center has to offer? This release simplifies maintenance and configuration, and has video management functionality improvements.
Security Center 5.13 focuses on making Security Center easier to manage and maintain. That means you can take advantage of the deep functionality continuously built on over the years.
Simplified video management
New: Quick search enhancements
Quick search makes finding specific video footage easier. Pinpoint the exact moment you’re looking for instead of scrubbing hours of footage to see when an item appeared or was removed from an area.
This feature is now in its own tile so you can find it faster. Also, you no longer need to draw a selection box around the area of interest—just zoom in where an incident occurred, and Quick search will initiate. Then simply scroll through the video thumbnails of the area to spot what you’re looking for.
The functionalities below from previous Security Center versions can help you do more with your video management:
Replace cameras while keeping configurations
When a camera stops working or becomes outdated and needs a replacement, redoing the configuration takes some time to get it back online.
We’ve made it easier with Unit replacement. Now, a camera’s existing configurations can be maintained and transferred to the new unit. This can help save valuable time on maintenance, especially if there are hundreds of cameras that need to be replaced at once.
Centralize password management
Manually updating passwords of all your units is an inefficient use of time and can strain limited resources. Within Security Center, you can manage password updates for all your cameras, and avoid accessing each unit individually.
Stay cybersecure with Firmware Vault
Manually verifying the need for firmware updates can expose your organization to cybersecurity risks. It can also impact productivity and have your teams missing out on important features and upgrades.
Instead, within the Firmware Vault you can store certified camera firmware and get alerts to available updates in a secure online repository with Security Center. This ensures that your cameras remain up to date, secure, and compliant with cybersecurity best practices.
Maintain secure and reliable operations with OSS support
For some organizations or critical deployments, maintaining access control operations in the event of a network failure, power outage, or in offline scenarios is crucial. Security Center 5.13 has OSS (Open Security Standard) support for DESFire. With this optional feature*, doors and locks don’t require a live connection to a network to validate and authenticate credentials. This ensures secure and reliable operations for your deployment, even when offline. *requires Softwire 11.6 and Synergis Cloud Link 3.2.0 |
Control user management
Security Center 5.13 introduces two improvements to user management. First, we’ve added the ability to automatically deactivate users based on inactivity across different systems, including Active Directory and Security Center.
Second, we’re giving users more control by sending a notification when someone attempts to connect to your workstation remotely, so you can approve or deny access.
Additional capabilities
Here are a few other enhancements coming with Security Center 5.13:
- Full control of quad views in de-warped cameras
- Warn users when retention settings exceed disk space
- Enhanced encryption for digitally signed video files (Upgrading to SHA-256)
- Filter doors by controlling devices in reports and tasks
- Make live ALPR data more accessible outside of Security Center
- Cut down on noise from malfunctioning equipment by filtering out events from specific entities
- Easily access filters for audits and activity trails for areas
